The 22nd Annual Eastern Class Championships will be held from March 15-17, 2013, at the Host Hotel at Cedar Lake, 366 Main St, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.
The event has a $16,000 prize fund based on 200 paid entries with $12,000 guaranteed.
The event has 7 sections: Master, Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E. All sections have either 3-day (March 15-17) or 2-day (March 16-17) schedules to play in.
Last year winner was GM Mikheil Kekelidze.
Host Hotel Sturbridge
Master (2200/up): $2000-1000-600-400, clear winner or 1st on tiebreak $100 bonus, top U2300 $600-300. FIDE rated.
Expert (2000-2199): $1200-600-400-200. FIDE rated.
Class A (1800-1999): $1200-600-400-200.
Class B (1600-1799): $1200-600-400-200.
Class C (1400-1599): $1000-500-300-200.
Class D (1200-1399): $500-250-150-100, trophies to first 3.
Class E (Under 1200): $400-200-120-80, trophies to first 3, top U1000, U800, U600, Unrated.
Top 5 sections entry fee: $108 online at chessaction.com by 3/13, $110 phoned to 406-896-2038 by 3/13 (entry only, no questions), 3-day $113, 2-day $112 if check mailed by 3/6, $120 online until 2 hours before first game or at site. GMs free, $90 deducted from prize.
Entry fee for Class D or E: All $50 less than above.
