Michigan Chess Festival LLC is organizing the Third Annual Fall Festival on October 23-27, 2013, at the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan.
The tournament will be played over nine rounds of Swiss system, rated with FIDE, and providing possibility to win FIDE title norms.
The tournament is open to players with FIDE titles, USCF over 2199, FIDE over 2100, and a limited number of talented junior players.
The guaranteed prizes are: 1st $4,500, 2nd $2,500, 3rd $1,500, 4th $800, 5th $500, 6th $200; U2400 1st $1,000, 2nd: $500; U2250 1st: $500.
Entry fee: $225 before October 1. $250 between October 1, and October 16, $300 after October 16. Registration will close on October 23 at 5:30 p.m.
Time control: 40/90, SD/30, increment 30 seconds per move.
Prominent players committed to competing include GM Aleksandr Lenderman, GM Ben Finegold, GM Joshua Friedel, World Junior Champion 2012 GM Alexander Ipatov, GM Timur Gareev, GM Yury Shulman, GM Tamaz Gelashvili, GM Mikheil Kekelidze, IM John Bartholomew, FM Atulya Shetty, FM Alex Betaneli, WCM (and Canadian Olympian) Liza Orlova, NM Spencer Finegold, former Canadian Junior Champion IM Raja Panjwani.
Last year winners were Grandmasters Yuri Shulman and Mesgen Amanov.
